Week 2 Reflection

In Week 2 we covered the following areas: 

Introduction to the Internet and issues in Media and Technology:

• The Internet and the World Wide Web
• Electronic mail (e-mails), discussion groups
• Internet Search Techniques
• Accessing and using resources on the World Wide Web
• Professional Communities on the Internet
• The copyright law and educators
• What is Fair use?
• Health and safety issues

Upon completion of the Module 2 I learnt the various copyright laws which affects educators. Hence, the term Creative Commons,Open Educational Resources,Bookmarking, Open educational Resources and Fair use. Therefore, each having various copyright law in which all users must adhere too.

In addition, the additional feature within google search. Hence, I would go into google search, select settings, scroll down to the advance search option, then select it. Therefore, the option to type in my search information become available. This feature provides its users with credible information.

Therefore, with the information that I learned it will be an asset within my classroom. Hence, we can utilize the materials knowing the limitations of each (copyright laws). In addition, accessing and using the "open educational resources (OER)" which offers free courses.
